The legal basis for accessibility is provided by the Act on Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons (BGG), the Saxon Inclusion Act (SächsInklusG), the Saxon E-Government Act (SächsEGovG) and the Act on the Implementation of the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Barrier-free Websites Act – BfWebG).
The benchmarks for accessibility are the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level A, published as a W3C Recommendation (Web Standard) (criteria of the European standard EN 301 549, version 2.1.2), as well as the further developed BITV 2.0 (Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance).
